I have seen a UFO. If you keep in mind that it stands for Unidentified Flying Object, then you should jog your memory banks; you've probably seen one, too. Did I think it was alien aircraft? Oh no. It was a silver tube that made no noise, so I surmised that it was a drone.

UFO Encounters in Kentucky

However, I could have submitted it. Kentucky has a long history of UFO accounts, and there's a website that has rounded up some juicy ones going back to 1948. Our fair Commonwealth could EVEN have been where the phrase "little green men" originated.

In the story at KY for KY, mention is made of the "Bluegrass Triangle." That's something I remember hearing about, but not in 1978 when it happened and when I was a kid. We talked about it in my folklore class at Western Kentucky University. (I'll tell you what...there could be an entirely separate folklore course JUST about UFOs in this state.)

The list also includes an account that has since been debunked. In 2012, an amateur Kentucky astronomer observed what he thought looked like two fluorescent bulbs hovering in the air. Since that incident, however, the "bulbs" have been explained away as "a test flight of a solar-powered internet balloon."

Here's another one from 2012 in Paris KY, but this one looks like a drone to me. I'm not sure where we were regarding drone usage at that time, but that's what it looks like.
