Winter is nowhere near over. Sure, we’ve seen an uptick in temperatures the past couple of days but more chilly air is coming. Sorry.

How do you weatherproof your home against the frigid air? You can take several steps like sealing gaps around your windows and doors or closing your curtains at night. One way I remember we kept the cold air was a draft stopper, however we didn’t have your typical stopper. Like this:

Some are practical, and some are cute, but a towel or several can do the trick. We eventually got a practical one, but I still remember seeing a towel or a big quilt at the bottom of the doors. In the first two places I lived in, there wasn’t a need for a stopper because my doors were interior, or the temperature never dropped to the point where I was freezing, and I am extremely cold-natured.

My front door is the only entryway to my current apartment, which is in a house over 100 years old. Old equals drafty. I figured I could buy a stopper, but I had the spark of an idea one day.

Napoleon Dynamite is the movie icon I mentioned in the title. I could've chosen any other blanket or quilt to throw over this 40-inch TV box. Why do I still have it? I was going to use it for another purpose. It could've made a great sled during our winter storms.

As you notice there is a nice gap on the side of the door. I'll have to rack my brain for another creative solution.

The Beautiful and Mysterious Monuments at Louisville's Cave Hill Cemetery

I don't know if you can call a cemetery a tourist attraction, but for my money, Louisville's Cave Hill Cemetery fits the bill. The monuments are extraordinary. Plus, a couple of icons are buried there.
