Kentucky Woman Knows Man Featured on Beer Can

This past week we had a parking lot party at the station, and I saw him when I went to get an adult beverage.

Who you may wonder? Well, he's a family friend I've known my entire life. He's one of my Dad's best friends; they graduated high school together, and he will show up at our house anytime.

His face, well, body adorn the Country Boy Brewing "Cougar Bait" beer. The other twist, two of the family friend's sons are co-founders of the beer company which started in Lexington in 2012. Cougar Bait is one of the company's flagship beers and one of the first that came into bars, restaurants, and stores across Kentucky. You can find it on tap in several places as well. Their other flagship brands include Shotgun Wedding, Halfway Home, and Cliff Jumper.

Hugh (we call him Huey) Coppage hails from Hartford, Kentucky. He raised his family in the country in a pre-fab house a couple of miles north of the city, as he had to put his house together, and Dad was one of the volunteers who pitched in. I think Dad was one of Hugh's groomsmen.

I can't remember who pointed it out, but I thought, "This is neat", but honestly, it's epic. This guy who has been over to my house multiple times in the past almost 50 years is the face of I must say, a delicious beer. As for Country Boy Brewing, their brewing facilities, and distribution continues to grow. In 2017, they expanded the business into a larger brew house, tap room, and offices in Georgetown.

They have recently released their first light beer, Country Light.

I'm eager to try it and I'm privileged to know the guy on the can. Enjoy Responsibly.
