Follow the Yellow Brick Road to this Magical Land of Oz Experience
One of the most loved films of all time, The Wizard of Oz, has gained a new wave of fans this past year. The Wicked musical movies dominated pop culture, and the Las Vegas Sphere was even given the Emerald City treatment!
Calling All Wizard of Oz Fans
Some friends of mine have shared photos and videos of that immersive experience, which looks incredible! If y'all are willing to go all the way out west for a dose of Dorothy and her friends, this iconic tourist attraction should be your next stop. Plus, it's closer! A magical world has been tucked away in Beech Mountain, North Carolina, since it first opened on June 15th, 1970. Here's the back story:
The Ultimate Wizard of Oz Fan Experience
The drama of that timeline honestly has the makings of a TV series! Don't you think? The Land of Oz has been closed since Hurricane Helene, but the family that currently owns the nostalgic theme park is opening it back up this year for Munchkins of all shapes and sizes to visit and share their love for this classic story of bravery and friendship.

What Does the Land of Oz Theme Park Look Like?
The actors look fantastic, and I've read that you really feel like you become part of the movie as you travel down the Yellow Brick Road. 44,000 yellow bricks, to be exact, make up the path along a gorgeous trail of trees, rock formations, and "Emerald" green grass. The way the sun shines through the leaves is downright magical. I mean, just look at this!
Land of Oz, Beech Mountain, North Carolina Reviews
The Land of Oz is about a seven-hour drive from the Tri-State area. I've been reading some of the feedback from their Facebook page, and it looks like it's worth the trip if you are a die-hard fan! These are some comments that were shared:
"My son took me. I didn't even know about the park, but I am SO glad we went. It was FABULOUS. I had loads of fun. It was as if you were part of the movie. Everyone was on point, and it was a great experience."
"We went on Friday, and it was so much fun. What a great cast! It was an 8 1/2 hr drive and worth every minute/mile on the road."
