Local Artist Honored in Frankfort [PHOTOS]
I’ve known Bill Burton for years. We worked together at WaxWorks for many of them, but I never knew he had a beautiful talent! I was excited to see him getting honored for his work this week.
Bill’s work entitled, "Keeneland Fall Meet" is one of only a few paintings chosen to be hung in Kentucky's Capitol Rotunda in Frankfort.
Bill had to write a companion story, with the submitted artwork, and his was about the trips he takes to Keeneland each year in Lexington for the spring and fall races. He loves to take photos of the horses and jockeys at the races and turn them into beautiful paintings. Bill was actually in Lexington for the spring race this week to take photos. He said he loves the color & pageantry.
His artwork will be on display until May 8th as part of the Governor's Derby Exhibit, .
Bill submitted a couple pieces of artwork for the exhibit and actually liked the one not chosen a little bit better, but was so proud to have this one make the cut!

Another of his amazing work of art is entitled, "Pound for Pound" and won #1 Honorable Mention at the Owensboro Art Guild's 55th Juried Exhibition.
