Joey Logano was the real lucky dog this afternoon, taking advantage of others misfortunes to punch a ticket to The Championship round. This afternoon's Can-Am 500 was as thrilling as an elimination race should be, with ups and downs a plenty. Six teams raced for two remaining spots and, all six left everything on the track. Matt Kenseth took control of the race after a restart with 58 laps remaining, and looked poised to take the checkered flag, and make his way to Miami. However, it was not to be. On the final lap of regulation, Matt Kenseth, Kyle Busch, and Alex Bowman were involved in an accident just as Kenseth was about to take the win. The incident cost Kenseth the opportunity to move into the Championship Round of the Chase next week. On the second attempt at a green white, checkered over time period, Joey Logano sprinted away from the field for the win.

With the win, Logano joins Jimmie Johnson and Carl Edwards as automatic qualifiers for next weeks finale. Kyle Busch will join the three winners after finishing behind Logano. Busch finished two spots ahead of Kevin Harvick to secure the final opportunity to win the championship next week.  If this afternoon's action was any indication, you won't want to miss next week's championship race! WBKR will have live coverage of the Eco Boost 400, from Homestead-Miami Speedway, beginning at 12:30 P.M. next Sunday.
