We have had some exciting concert news to share this week. On Monday, we shared news that country music superstar Morgan Wallen is headlining Country Thunder at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee. This concert news comes to us from our neighbors to the north. Country music star Mark Wills, who first burst onto the Billboard Country Chart back in 1996, is coming to the Jasper Arts Center on Saturday, October 9th.

It was 11 years ago that Mark came to Owensboro for the Big O Music Festival.  You may remember that year.  It was 2010 and the first (and only) time the Big O Music Fest expanded to a two-day event.  Mark Wills joined Gary Allan, Jamey Johnson, Phil Vassar, Randy Houser, American Idol's Josh Gracin, Colt Ford and others at the event.  I emceed that event and spent a lot of time backstage.  I have to say- Mark was one of the nicest artists to ever play that festival.  He was great!

And that's why I am excited to share the news that he's coming back to our area.

Mark Wills' first Top 10 country song was "Jacob's Ladder", which peaked at #6 in 1996. He went on to have seven more Top 10 songs, including the two #1 hits.

'Wish You Were Here" landed at the top spot in 1999.

His second #1, "19 Somethin'", topped the chart in 2002.

His concert at Jasper Arts Center is presented in partnership with Kimball International.

Due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns, masks are required inside the Jasper Arts Center as well as all City of Jasper owned/operated facilities.

Though the show has been on sale for a while, there are still some really good seats still available. Those ticket prices are as follows: Adult: $40 Senior: $38 Student: $35. As of this story, there are still seats available in all three orchestra sections: Center Orchestra, Orchestra Left and Orchestra Right.
