The scene's going to be rocking and you will be digging the sounds at the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra's 2026-27 season opener. Halloween Classics is coming up Saturday, October 24 (7 p.m.) and I am honored to perform a real coffin banger for you.

The symphony is led by Maestro Troy Quinn and the Halloween Classics show promises to be a haunting and hysterically fun concert.

You'll hear music from The Witches of Eastwick, Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Phantom of the Opera, and more.

I will be taking the stage to perform the "Monster Mash"! The 1962 classic, which happens to be one of my favorite songs ever, was originally recorded by Bobby "Boris" Pickett and the Crypt-Kickers.

Since its release, "Monster Mash" has become one of the most popular Halloween songs of all time. Believe it or not, it even reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Here's another fun fact about the song. Across the pond, the BBC banned the "Monster Mash" from airplay because people thought it was "too morbid."  However, since then, it has been recorded by artists ranging from Alice Cooper to The Wiggles. Even the glorious Linda Ronstadt sang background vocals on a version of it.

I have been performing "Monster Mash" on the radio every October for about 20 years. It is a Halloween staple of my morning show and, honestly, my signature song. I can't wait to bring it to life with the Owensboro Symphony. I promise to give you a jolt from my electrodes.
