Meet Millie Biscuit, Kentucky’s Four-Legged Social Media Star

When I think about "spokescreatures" of the past, I think of McGruff the Crime Dog, Woodsy Owl, and Smokey Bear, who were all the faces of iconic public service campaigns of my youth. The thing is, if you wanted to meet them, you'd have to settle for a costumed performer.

But jump forward to 2026 and head to Lexington, Kentucky, where you might run into a real, live, four-legged spokesdog named Millie Biscuit, a rescue pit bull mix who has become quite a public service celebrity in her own right. What's more, Millie is becoming a big star on social media.

Millie Biscuit Becomes a Kentucky Social Media Star

Five-year-old Millie belongs to Natalie Hahn, who initially was just going to foster the pup but adopted her instead. After creating a special Instagram page and filling it with photos and videos of Millie, Hahn watched her following grow. Millie is now up to more than 24,000 followers.

Millie Biscuit Uses Her Fame to Help Kentucky Shelter Dogs

Seeing how quickly Millie's popularity had grown, Hahn began using that growing social media platform to shine the spotlight on other shelter dogs around Kentucky. Natalie and Millie recently teamed up with the Lexington Humane Society and Paws 4 the Cause in an effort to get more dogs into loving homes. And with August being Clear the Shelters Month, it's the perfect time for Natalie and Millie to spread the word.

Millie Is Helping Kentucky Shelter Dogs Find Homes

In fact, fans of Millie Biscuit's Facebook and Instagram pages will see videos throughout the month featuring dogs from shelters across the Commonwealth who are looking for new families.

Natalie Hahn found Millie in 2021 at Paws 4 the Cause. At the time, she was named Libby. Hahn renamed her Millie Biscuit, and five years later, the rescue pit mix has become a Bluegrass social media star whose popularity is now helping other shelter dogs find homes.

They say heroes can come in all shapes and sizes. Well, they can also have four paws and be covered in fur.
