It's no secret Miranda Lambert is an animal lover. Sometimes I wonder if she loves animals more than she does human beings. Of course, I wouldn't blame her if that were the case, since we know people can just be the absolute worse sometimes. She's also a big proponent of adopting animals over shopping for them. So much so, she and her mom started the Mutt Nation Foundation in 2009 to promote animal adoption, and do what they can to make sure every dog has a nice place to call home. Now, they're looking to give back to others who share a similar goal.

Miranda announced Monday evening on her Facebook page, the non-profit is looking to award $1,000 grants to 15 different animal shelters across the country as a way of thanking them for the work they're doing to find permanent homes for the animals in their care.

Submissions for consideration can be made through a form on the non-profit's website, and is open to individuals (like you, perhaps) who have either adopted or fostered an animal in 2020, or volunteered at a local shelter over the course of the year. Following spaces for your name and contact information, as well as which of the aforementioned options you did this year, the form offers space for you to nominate your favorite shelter for the one of the grants.

The form, nor the Facebook post announcing the grants mention a deadline for when submissions must be made, so I would say you'll want to do it sooner rather than later just to be safe. There's also no mention of when, or if, the winner's will be announced publicly. Although, I imagine they will be once they've been decided.

So stop reading this, and jump over to the Mutt Nation website to nominate your favorite Tri-State shelter.
