This won't sit well with some of you, but I have never been a fan of Ale 8 One. But there is an Ale 8 One Zero Sugar, and I like it a lot. (And that first line was a joke; I don't really think you're beside yourself over my taste in beverages.)

I'm pleased with that zero-sugar discovery because Ale 8 One is manufactured in Kentucky, and I like supporting our businesses. We can honor Kentucky's manufacturing history in other ways, as well.

Playing Cards

Bee, Bicycle, Hoyle, and Aviator playing cards are all made in Erlanger, Kentucky. So, on your next poker night, tip your hat to Commonwealth manufacturing.

Post-It Notes

The next reminder you stick on the fridge is a nod to the Bluegrass State.

Reynolds Wrap

Since the late 1910s, the iconic foil has been produced in Louisville.

Pop-Tarts

The Kellogg's Corporation makes its legendary toaster treats in Pikeville. (Easy and awesome dessert...toast a fudge Pop-Tart then top it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.)

Manufactured in Kentucky

I'm a longtime fan of supporting local businesses, and it's pretty cool to know we can expand that endeavor to include products made on a national level. It hadn't occurred to me that if I sat down to play cards with friends, snacked on Pop-Tarts during the game, and washed it down with Ale 8 One Zero Sugar, that I would be throwing my support to Kentucky at the same time.

I guess the only thing left for me to do for dinner is make a big old peanut butter sandwich, eat it while drinking Big Red from a Dixie Cup, and then spend some time on a houseboat. When you scroll through the gallery below, you'll understand exactly what I mean.
