After Years of Delays, Pigeon Forge Finally Lands a New NERF Action Xperience

I know I've said this a gazillion times, but it's always true. Increasingly, it seems like there's just no way to take everything in during one vacation in the Smoky Mountains region of East Tennessee. Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Sevierville always seem to be announcing something new. Their tourism commissions must be popping champagne corks all the time.

NERF Action Experience

Next summer, after three years of hold-ups, the NERF Action Xperience will make its debut in Pigeon Forge. An exciting attraction with cross-generational appeal, the NERF Action Experience is three attractions in one, featuring experiences from brands like Transformers, Play-Doh, Peppa Pig, Mouse Trap, and PJ Masks.

The 50,000 square foot former Smoky Mountain Opry site will serve as the home of The Play District: Powered by Hasbro, which will house the NERF Action Xperience. Construction is underway to convert the entertainment venue into a world-class family-centric playhouse. The nation's first NERF Action Xperience opened in Paramus, New Jersey, in 2024.

In addition to the NERF Action Xperience, the the three-in-one attraction will also offer Planet Playskool, where families will enjoy exploring, playing, and creating together, and Peppa Pig Playtime, inspired by Peppa's House on the Hill.

The Play District: Powered by Hasbro is the brainchild of Knoxville-based Safe Harbor Development and will also provide dedicated space for group events, school outings, camping experiences, team-building activities, and, of course, birthday parties.

Plenty of food and beverage offerings, not to mention retail, will complete what promises to be a new, exciting, one-of-a-kind attraction for families from around the world.

And yes, at this point, it might be best to either ask for extra days off or plan a sequel.
