Netflix’s CHEER Live Coming to the KFC Yum Center in Louisville
If you're a fan of the Netflix original series Cheer, you're going to do a toe touch when you hear this news. Cheer Live is coming to the KFC Yum! Center in downtown Louisville.
Cheer debuted on Netflix in January of 2020 and the second season just dropped earlier this month. The series features the Bulldogs Cheer Team from Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas. Navarro has long been a cheer powerhouse having racked up over a dozen junior college national titles. The Bulldogs have one of the best cheer programs in the entire nation and members of that squad and stars of the show are getting ready to hit the road for a North American tour.
In case you've never seen the show, here's a look at the trailer for Season One.
And here's the trailer for the current season, which is firmly planted inside Netflix's current Top 10 list.
I do a lot of freelance work and emcee for a variety of cheer competitions here in Kentucky. I can tell you, from firsthand experience, that it's a rigorous sport and the work the teams put into their routines rivals anything else in the world of sports. Make no mistake. There are some people who scoff at the notion that cheer is a sport. Well, it's a sport. A tough one. And cheerleaders are among some of the best athletes you'll find anywhere. There's no doubt that Cheer has hammered that home.
You'll be able to experience the thrill of the sport for yourself when CHEER Live rolls into the KFC Yum! Center on Thursday, June 30th, 2022.
Tickets will go on sale at 10am (9am CST) on Friday, February 4th at the KFC Yum! Center Box Office and Ticketmaster.com. And, coming up on WBKR, we're going to be giving YOU the chance to win tickets to the event.
The show promises an exhilarating mix of choreographed dances, cheerleading routines, storytelling and a Q&A.
