I was serious when I asked last week if there's a time machine out there I don't know about. Imagine my delight when I read up on the newest Netflix series 'Stranger Things'. It's set in 1983 in the fictional small town of Hawkins, Indiana. I love the tagline for the show, "99 out of a hundred times, a missing kid is with a parent or relative, what about the other time?" Check out the trailer for 'Stranger Things'.

Oh, it's so good. I immediately think of 'E.T', 'The Goonies', 'Poltergeist' and a little bit of 'The Blair Witch Project' when describing it. It's very sci-fi heavy with scary, over the top horror elements. The series was created by brothers Eric and Matt Duffer, who were recently credited as writers and producers on the first season of Fox's eerie series 'Wayward Pines'. Winona Ryder stars Joyce Byers, the mother of the missing boy who won't give up no matter who won't believe her about what really happened to her son.

Want a taste of the first episode? Here's the first eight minutes.

The first season, eight episodes in all, is streaming now on Netflix. I always wanted to play Dungeons & Dragons.
