New Evansville Hockey Team Name And Logo Unveiled

Evansville's new hockey team name, logo, and jerseys were unveiled Friday. And the name is a familiar one to fans of the city's junior hockey team: the Evansville Thunderbolts.

The Thunderbolts will be part of the Southern Professional Hockey League and will begin competing during the 2016-2017 season. The Evansville Icemen signed a contract with the city of Owensboro in January to move the team across the river. The ECHL approved the team's move last month.
