New Evansville Restaurant is Better Than Good, it’s “Bad”
Last week, my Facebook feed was flooded with photos of the most delicious looking food. A brand new restaurant opened this past May and it's been spicing up the West Side of Evansville, Indiana. The word "bad" is in the name, but it is so, so good.
Bad Randy's owner, chef Jeremiah Galey's menu is mouth-watering with dinner selections like Spicy Crab Linguini, Spare Ribs & Grits, and of course, Nashville Hot Chicken with a sliding scale of hotness that will give you your own "Hot Ones" experience.
From Southern (the mildest) to XXX Bad (the hottest) there are some hilarious heat levels in between. Are you brave enough to try "Bubbleguts For Sure", "Call the Ambulance", or "We'll Name the Seat You Die in After You?" Sounds pretty intense, but I know some fans of spicy food who would love to risk a night of indigestion for some amazing chicken. Good thing there are plenty of refreshing cocktails and beers to wash it down.
Bad Randy's even serves up a Bad Brunch menu. I'll have to flip a coin to decide between the hot chicken & waffles and brisket hash although it all looks SO good! I mean, hatch chile cheddar grits? Are you kidding? Say less!
No meal is complete without a lil' somethin' sweet. All of the dishes at Bad Randy's are super creative and dessert is no different. How many kinds of cheesecake can a restaurant whip up? The options are endless. Bad Randy says "challenge accepted." He even made a Crab Rangoon cheesecake. This Snickerdoodle cheesecake looks pretty amazing.
With quirky and nostalgic decor including a piece from Evansville's Wired coffee shop where so many of us old hardcore scene kids hung out in the early 2000s, this place is just COOL. Or well, BAD. In a good way, of course. Local art, trendy merch, and a heck of a vibe.
Be sure to follow their Facebook page for specials, announcements, food pictures so good you can smell them, and some pretty good jokes. Then make your brunch or dinner plans for Bad Randy's. You will not be disappointed.
