News Flash: Today’s the Official Halfway Mark to Christmas
2020 has been a wild and crazy ride so far. I don't know about you, but I think the COVID-19 shutdown earlier this year did the exact opposite of what I thought it would do. I thought the quarantine and "healthy at home" efforts would completely slow the year down. Instead, I think it sped it up. Infinitely. And this is proof. My friends, I don't know how to break this to you, but we are officially halfway to Christmas. Need proof? Here's today's Facebook post from the page Your Christmas Countdown.
Yes! I know it seems impossible, but this is June 25th, which means that Christmas Day is exactly six months away. While I am personally in denial about this, some of my friends are already "harking" and "rejoicing." Take my friend Lisa Hagan, for instance. She made this social media post just yesterday.
I'm sorry. WHAT???? LOL.
Has anyone else out there started Christmas shopping? I can't even imagine.
However, I do have a confession. Yes, it's slightly embarrassing and I hesitate to share this even as I type it. I still have a small Christmas tree up in the living room. We haven't taken it down because Kevin likes the lights. The sad part about this??? The strand of lights burned out a couple of weeks ago, so now there's just a random fake tree sitting by one of our bookshelves. Maybe in six months we'll be ready to restring it.
Happy (or Merry) six months until Christmas!
