One Mom’s iPhone Rules For Her Son
This is one of those pictures that has shown up on my facebook feed just about a million times. So, at notification 11,576, I finally clicked on it and read it through. It was about a Mom, Janell Burley Hofmann and her 13 year-old son. You see, her son received an iPhone for Christmas. But, what's interesting about this story is what went along with him receiving that iPhone... a set of rules, 18 rules to be exact. And, if I'm being completely honest with us both, I know a lot of adults who need some of these rules... including myself.
Some of my favorites are: "#11Turn it off, silence it, put it away in public. Especially in a restaurant, at the movies or while speaking with another human being. #17 Keep your eyes up. See the world happening around you. Stare out a window. Listen to the birds. Take a walk. Talk to a stranger. Wonder without googling."
Want to see the other 16 rules?
Janell just happens to be a wife and mother of five children. (Bless her heart, ha!) She also writes a blog and has some great info on her website.

After reading her rules for her son, I think I'm going to implement some of those on myself. I'm going to respect others time, learn to live without my phone and I'm going to look up.
