OPD Report Dead Body Found Saturday in Owensboro

On Saturday, January 28, 2017 at approximately 3:15 p.m. the Owensboro Police Department responded to 802 Breckenridge Street in reference to a body being located in the back yard by the property owner.

The identity of the deceased is Jose’ Breydi Gomez, 30, of the 700 block of Breckenridge Street. It is believed that Gomez has been deceased for several days.

The investigation has led detectives to believe that Gomez was struck by a piece of wood, causing his death. The victim’s mother and an acquaintance have beencharged as noted below. Autopsy results are pending. This investigation is ongoing.

Photographs were not available at the time of this release. The arrested persons are currently lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center.
