Owensboro Family Brings Backyard Fun To Your Gatherings

Even though we're just getting winter underway here in the Tristate, an Owensboro, Kentucky family is already looking ahead to spring, summer, and fall. Daymon and Karla Ward, along with their two adult children (Mason and Madeline), have created a brand new business designed to make your outdoor parties a huge hit with your family, friends, and guests.

Imagine playing Giant Jenga in the backyard. Or, maybe an oversized Connect 4 is more your speed. Or an inflatable version of Skee Ball?? Hello, sign me up!  When I was a kid, I used to wear the Skee Ball out at Opryland and Holiday World.  I was, still am, obsessed with that game.

The Ward's new business- Owensboro's Backyard Bash Rentals- has oversized versions of a dozen + games, including Yahtzee, Tetris, the ones I have already mentioned, and more.

In addition to offering outdoor games, Owensboro's Backyard Bash Rentals also offers a portable karaoke machine, snow cone and cotton candy makers, and sleepover tents. I'll be honest. When Karla told me about the business and the rental prices, I was floored by how affordable (and cheap) they are. For example, those large outdoor games I talked about above are just $15 a piece.

Two things in particular that immediately caught my attention were the Laser Tag Blasters and the Nerf War optio . When I was a kid, my friends and I LOVED having Nerf Wars in the backyard. Now we can again. The same thing goes for Laser Tag. This sounds like a blast. I don't know about you, but I am ready to play. So either, I need to plan a party, or you need to plan one and invite me.

Karla says the inspiration for the business was simple really.  She and Daymon wanted to help their kids launch a start-up that could eventually help them earn some extra spending money. The kids already have full-time jobs, so this is just gravy (or cotton candy). So, they created a business that serves their strengths. Madeline will be in charge of customer relations. Mason serves as Owensboro's Backyard Bash Rentals' graphic designer.

According to their official Facebook page, they have something for virtually every occasion. "Birthdays, graduation parties, reunions, cookouts, or that random Saturday that needs some excitement."

Karla and Daymon will arrange porch pickup. You come get it, save money because you have rented the equipment instead of bought it, and you get to take all the credit for a well-planned event!
