The Evansville Otters are the oldest current team in the Frontier League. Owensboro, Kentucky may soon be home to the youngest. It will be if a group of local baseball fans have their way. Yes! Professional baseball could be on its way to town.

Evansville inherited its baseball team from Lancaster, Ohio back in 1995. Since that time, the beloved Otters have called the legendary Bosse Field home and the team has won two league championships- back in 2006 and 2016. The team has also sent over 50 of its players up the ranks to the MLB. The Owensboro Baseball Committee is hoping to bring that kind of action here.

That committee is chaired by Kenneth Burns, who's joined by a handful of local fans looking to explore the possibility of building a Frontier League stadium here in Owensboro that would be multi-purpose. First and foremost, it would be the home of Owensboro's own professional baseball team. It would also present an opportunity to host concerts, festivals, and more.
