Owensboro Bluegrass Band Competing in Final Round of “Battle of the Strings” to Perform at Bourbon & Beyond
Last week, Owensboro Bluegrass band, The Lowland Ramblers performed at the Semi-finals in the Bourbon & Beyond Battle of the Strings competition.
Lead singer and guitar player, Chris Abell, Alex Abend on stand-up bass, Blythe Dahlem on mandolin, and Sam Sanford on banjo who form The Lowland Ramblers, beat out the other groups at the semi-finals and are now preparing to give it everything they've got at the upcoming final competition. This evening will determine which of two bands will take the stage at the Bourbon & Beyond festival.
Bourbon & Beyond in Louisville, KY has grown to be one of the best music festivals each year. In fact, it's considered the The World's Largest Music, Food & Bourbon Festival. The line up for 2024 is absolutely amazing. The Lowland Ramblers have been playing together for a little over a year now. Chris told me that he and his fellow musicians essentially found each other thanks to the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum. How awesome that a musical genre created and thriving in our part of the state is going to be featured at one of the coolest festivals in the world?

The Lowland Ramblers invite you to be a part of their journey. "It’s an honor to be selected. I’m so proud of this group. We’ve already put together what we think will be an amazing show - we encourage everyone to make plans to be at the Fox Den in Louisville this Saturday at 8pm local time!" Chris said.
A big part of this final night of the competition, is audience support. If you want to rally around our local talent and help them reach this really awesome goal, all you have to do is have a great time in Louisville this up coming weekend. Enjoy a great show this Saturday July 27th at the The Fox Den Billiards, Bites, and Brews and cheer on The Lowland Ramblers!
