Spring is just around the corner, which means that baseball and softball seasons are too.  The Owensboro Daviess County Baseball Association is gearing up for registrations.  This year, the league, which covers the west side of the county, has added online registrations!

West ODC includes the following schools/playgrounds: Southern Oaks, Burns, Sorgho and Stanley).  They will be playing Cal Ripken Baseball for ages 3 to 12.  Those leagues are t-ball, peanut, rookie, minor (46' pitching, 60' bases) and major (50' pitching, 70' bases).

Plus, softball league registration is open for ages 8 and up.  And there are fast and slow pitch options.

The West teams will begin league play in mid-May, with the season and tournament wrapped up by July 4th.  Games are played on Monday,s Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.  There are occasionally exceptions on Wednesdays and weekends if there are rain outs and games have to be made up.

Registration is underway now and can be completed online, CLICK HERE!  If you'd rather register your players in person, you can do so at the appropriate playground on Saturday, February 20th.  The registration fee is $90 per player, however discounts are available if you have multiple children playing in the league. It's $145 for two players and there's a $175 family max (for families with three or more children playing in the league).  The registration for t-ball is $30 per child.

By the way, registration fees cover electricity, water, gas and insurance for the league.  As league coordinator Jason Koger explains, "All the money collected goes back into the playground in some way."

If you'd like more information about the league, contact Jason Koger at 270-929-0408 or Austin McLimore at 270-302-6974.
