Owensboro Horror Comedy ‘New Fears Eve’ Now Available for Streaming
Owensboro-based producer and director PJ Starks, along with his partner Eric Huskisson, has been using my hometown (and theirs) as a backdrop for their horror filmography for several years. In fact, PJ's first feature was released in the late 2000s. I've even made a cameo in one of them.
New Fears Eve
Over the years, Starks and Huskisson (AKA the "Scream Team") have watched as their productions have been positively reviewed by many horror movie publications and made the film festival circuit.
Their most recent effort, New Fears Eve, had its red carpet premiere at Owensboro's RiverPark Center in June of 2024. At the end of October of that same year, the movie was featured at Kevin Smith's Smodcastle Film Festival in New Jersey. And last December, New Fears Eve was a big winner at the New York City Horror Film Fest.
Well, now, supporters of PJ's and Eric's work, along with just plain old horror movie fans, will be able to view New Fears Eve at their leisure. That's right. No more waiting until the next special screening or a film festival invitation. New Fears Eve, produced right here in Owensboro, is coming to a streaming platform near you. (I guess they're all near us, if you think about it, aren't they?)
Where Is New Fears Eve Streaming?
Cineverse, the distribution company behind the Terrifier movies and the Toxic Avenger remake, is releasing New Fears Eve via the streaming platform Screambox, considered one of the best horror streaming services for 2026. The best part? You can stream it for free for seven days before the subscription kicks in. It's also available on Google Play, ROKU, Plex, Prime Video, and Fandango at Home.
Happy New Year, everybody. Oh wait, I mean, "Happy New Fears Eve-rybody."
