While Owensboro filmmaker PJ Starks prepares to begin work on the third and final installment of his Volumes of Blood series, a new treatment of the original has been released.

PJ shot the original Volumes of Blood back in 2014 and was kind enough to give Chad Benefield and me small parts in the movie.

We had a blast, even if we did meet untimely ends--me in that first installment and Chad in the sequel.

Now, the original Volumes of Blood has been re-released with a new high resolution treatment and several new features added as part of the package. There's also a reversible insert with new artwork.

It's another exciting chapter in PJ's film career and it's been a blast watching it all evolve.

I remember PJ and his colleagues joining Chad and me on the The Screening Room--an entertainment and movie review show on WBKR's sister station WOMI that ended in 2011--some ten years ago.

We've enjoyed watching the progress and, of course, getting involved.

After all, if I'd never met PJ, I never would have had all those pencils jammed into my eyes.
