Owensboro Police Release Update Regarding Assault and Kidnapping

Early this morning, Owensboro police responded to a call about a shooting in the 2600 block of West Victory Court.

Soon after the police arrived, two individuals were transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital with injuries.

It has been determined that 51-year-old Brian Scott Bailey of Owensboro bound the homeowner's hands and assaulted the victim, 76-year-old Eugene Evans, also of Owensboro.

Bailey was shot during the course of the assault and was treated for his injury. Evans is believed to have sustained life-threatening injuries from the altercation.

Bailey has been arrested on charges of kidnapping and first-degree assault.

Both individuals were acquaintances.

No other suspects are believed to be connected with this incident.
