20 Years of Screams: Haunts of Owensboro Kicks Off Its Spookiest Season Yet
"Every weekend we're going into a new place, a location that is severely, historically haunted and it's going to be so much fun!"
To say that David Wolfe is excited about the 20th anniversary of his Haunts of Owensboro ghost tours is an understatement. The new season kicks off Friday, October 2nd and Saturday, October 3rd with the opportunity to visit what is arguably THE most haunted building in Owensboro.
Yes! David is excited to announce that his season opener will feature back-to-back nights inside Theatre Workshop of Owensboro's Trinity Centre.

But, a return trip to T.W.O. is just one of the scares David has conjured up for his anniversary celebration.
On Friday, October 9th and Saturday, 10th, The Haunts of Owensboro tour will take you inside Haley McGinnis Funeral Home. According to David, the building was constructed pre-Civil War. 1860 to be exact! David says the building is allegedly full of spirits, the most sighted of which is a haunted black cat. David insists it's been 'spotted numerous times' and he's hoping it'll make an appearance during this year's tours.
On Friday, October 16th and Saturday, October 17th, David is taking his tour guests to Ghostly Productions. David typically starts his nightly tours outside this location (203 W. 4th Street). However, this year, he's luring folks to the back alley. David claims, "There are a couple of great ghost stories about spirits lingering in the back."
Then, David plans to close out the final two weekends (Friday, October 23rd and Saturday, October 24th, and Friday, October 30th and Saturday, October 31st) with a trip inside the Cupola Club on Frederica Street. There have been numerous reports of a full-body apparition standing at the front bay window of the building. Will that spirit show up to help celebrate 20 years of tours and things that go bump in the night in downtown Owensboro?
I suppose you'll have to see for yourself, if you dare! I have taken David's tour before and I can tell you this. He has certainly done his homework. There's a lot of folklore and ghostlore surrounding many historic buildings in Owensboro. This year will mark 20 years of David breathing life into the dead and restless.
