Local Road Crews Prepare For Winter Storm in a Hilarious Way
When serious winter weather approaches, heroes arise. The tri-state area is beyond lucky to have such dedicated folks to help keep everyone safe. Meteorologists, emergency management, law enforcement, and utilities crews, to name a few.
Another group of MVPs who come to the rescue in every snowy situation...The road crews of the city/county street departments. They are back, and they mean BUSINESS. Their work has already begun by spraying brine on the highways and byways. Now, they are prepping the big guns to be able to clear snow routes.
If you can, park your vehicle in a driveway or somewhere off the street so the trucks can pass more easily. You'll also avoid having to dig out. Here's how the snow routes work:

Also on their Facebook page is a video of how the Owensboro Street Department REALLY gets pumped up to fight the snow and ice.
If for some reason that doesn't play, click here. They aren't the only ones getting ready for "the big game." Here is how the county crews hype themselves up and combat the cold.
GET IT FELLAS! They are BACK BABY! No need to fear when these guys are here and ready to help get folks back on the road should they need to.
I love that they are having a little fun before the storm hits. A twelve to eighteen inches snowfall prediction is something you gotta laugh about, or you'll cry, right? Hopefully, you have everything you need and can take a few days off work to stay safe and warm at home. Wishing you a cozy, safe weekend! As you hibernate, remember those who brave the elements for public safety. Thank a road crew worker today!
