No More Long Drives to the Airport: United Flights to Chicago and D.C. Land in Owensboro This October

I love to travel and I am always looking for the easiest, most convenient way to get from Point A to Point B. In my case, Point A is my hometown - Owensboro, KY. Starting in October, it's going to get much easier to get from Point A to virtually anywhere in the world. Here's why!

United Airlines, in partnership with SkyWest, is preparing to begin United Express service to and from Owensboro-Daviess Country Regional Airport to two of United's largest hubs - Chicago O'Hare and Washington Dulles. United will replace Contour Airlines, which was offering service from Owensboro to Chicago for the last couple of years. With the brand-new partnership, United passengers will not only have access to Chicago, but they'll have a direct route to Washington, D.C. as well.

Service to Dulles (IAD) begins first. The first flights are scheduled for Tuesday, October 13th. Here's the current flight schedule to D.C.

FROM OWB TO IAD

8:45am to 11:40am

5:15pm to 8:10pm

FROM IAD TO OWB

12:35pm to 1:40pm

10:10pm to 11:15pm

Service to Chicago O'Hare is set to begin on Sunday, October 25th. There will be a flight each way daily.

2:25pm to 4:15pm

FROM ORD TO OWB

9:30pm to 11:05pm

Officials at Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport say the new service will allow you easier access to both domestic and international connections. According to the airport's official Facebook page, you can "Connect seamlessly to hundreds of destinations across the U.S. and around the world on United's global network."
