Sweet little blessing boxes have become such an answered prayer in communities.  They offer help to many in a time of need.  One Owensboro woman who used to be homeless has turned her home into a blessing box.

Tina McStoots remembers a time when she was hungry.  When she wondered where her next meal was coming from.   One day she was out with her children and donated food to a local blessing box.  Her son Connor asked her what she was doing and she explained how the blessing boxes worked all over town.  She told her son "this is what God wants us to do is help others if we can."  He told his mom lets have one at our house and they have done just that.

I noticed their blessing box driving down Triplett Street with my husband, Joe, just the other day, and then I was talking with a friend who asked if I knew who Tina was and at the time I did not.  I looked her up on Facebook and realized her home was the one we'd seen.  I contacted her and got the opportunity to hear her amazing story.

I see a lot of people posting on social media where can I take this or that.  We have several places in town that have a need.  I always say do your research and go from there.

When I asked Tina what type of donations she accepts here is what she told me;

I accept food, honestly everything. We even have a fridge for the refrigerator items. I have helped a lot of people including homeless even made up sandwiches to feed the homeless. We accept clothes, shoes, hygiene needs ,used toys honestly everything. I really enjoy helping others cause with this covid-19 things has been extremely rough on us as a community. I have even wrapped up good used items to pass out as Christmas gifts to children.
