Women’s Guild of Owensboro Hosts 82nd Annual Spring Luncheon
Our friends, Angela Woosley, and Elizabeth Wilson with The Women's Guild of Owensboro came to visit yesterday to tell us about their annual Spring Luncheon starting TODAY!
What is Women's Guild of Owensboro?
This group began as a way for local women to join together, contributing services and funds to local non-profits, and this luncheon is their biggest fundraiser. All proceeds go to local non-profits that support health and wellness in our community. Past recipients include Community Dental Clinic and New Beginnings Sexual Assault Support Services.

When and Where is the Luncheon
From 11AM-1PM today and tomorrow, May 10th & 11th, be sure to make your way to 1803 Lexington Ave, Owensboro, KY, 42301, the gorgeous home of Carol Ann and Terry Walker. A tour of the home is encouraged to enjoy the collection of Italian antiques and jaw-dropping artwork.

What's on the Menu?
The luncheon menu is a long-standing tradition that has not really changed much over time and for good reason. The famous chicken salad, scratch-made yeast rolls, cheese wafers, fresh fruit and chess bars for dessert is a perfectly delicious spring lunch. However, the real star of the show is the sweet tea. The ladies were sworn to secrecy on what makes it so good, but it gets rave reviews every year!

The ladies of The Women's Guild of Owensboro have their system down pat. Each woman is assigned a duty from tea server to plate scraper. (Although, I would bet money there isn't much left on those plates to scrape!) Sending good vibes to the yeast roll makers! I would be SO nervous! You will recognize them at the luncheon by their pretty white aprons. Another tradition, as you can see from this amazing throwback picture.

What Entertainment Can I Expect?
Live music from Owensboro's own Possum Picker's is a perfect soundtrack to this lovely lunch. You can also enjoy artwork from local artists who will be displaying and selling their pieces. They would make the perfect Mother's Day gift!

Where Do I Park?
Parking will be along the street, or you are welcome to park in the parking lot at Trinity Episcopal Church up the road. There will be a shuttle from the church to the event and back again, courtesy of James H. Davis Funeral Home.

How Do I Get Tickets and How Much Are They?
Tickets to this fundraiser are $30 per person and may be purchased at the door with a check, cash, or by Venmo using @womens-guild. It's a wonderful tradition that makes our community better. Thank you, ladies! I'll definitely be swinging by for my plate!
