Say “Bonjour” to Your Next Weekend Getaway: Paris, TN

Did you know you don't have to travel on an airplane to go to Paris? You don't even have to drive very far! OK, so maybe it isn't Paris, FRANCE, but it does have an iconic landmark in common.

The small town of Paris, Tennessee, borders the Kentucky state line close to Land Between the Lakes. Known for having the oldest courthouse in Tennessee, dating back to 1896, the downtown area is very quaint with brick walkways and 1920s-era design elements that have been restored to their original glory.

Settled close to lakes and waterways, it only makes sense that Paris, TN, is also home to the "World's Largest Fish Fry."  Locals look forward to the last week of April every year as visitors from all over the country come to celebrate some of the most delicious fried fish and exciting festivities.

The jewel in the city's crown, however, is the 60-foot replica of the Eiffel Tower. There are more than 50 replicas all over the world, but the one in Tennessee holds the title of the 12th tallest. It was originally built out of wood by engineering students from Christian Brothers University in Memphis in the 1990s.

Piece by piece, the planks were replaced by steel so that it could be a more permanent wonder for folks to enjoy and make memories. Located in Eiffel Tower Park, it is surrounded by beautiful walking trails, an impressive accessible playground, a water park, pickleball courts, and disc golf courses, as seen here.

What an incredible place! Doesn't that make you want to go visit? I'm definitely gonna add Paris, TN, to our running list of weekend trips we need to take.
