Times are tough for so many of our neighbors in Daviess County. Nobody should have to give up their beloved furry family member because they've fallen on hard times, but quite often that's exactly what happens. I find that unacceptable. These families deserve better and the amazing volunteers at Saving Paws Animal Rescue of Kentucky agree! They just announced the inception of a new pet pantry. Here's how you can take advantage of this valuable resource.

As you know, I'm all about caring for our homeless pet population. They didn't ask to be born, but I would never judge an owner's fateful decision to abandon their pet, as I have no idea what a family is going through. They may feel they have no other option. They may be facing unplanned financial hardships. As a pet owner all my life, I can't imagine having to make this unimaginable decision. How about you?

SPARKY OPENS COMMUNITY PET PANTRY

When SparKY sees a need in the pet community, they don't hesitate to attempt to solve the problem. They want to help families keep pets instead of turning them over to a shelter or a rescue because of financial reasons. This is why they announced the opening of a new community pet pantry to help families who need it the most. Thanks to a grant from the Young Foundation, the pantry dream is becoming a reality.

The pet pantry will provide food, leashes, toys, litter, and other pet supplies to assist community members in need. The program is available by appointment only.
