Why Does Everyone Have Geese on Their Porches Again?
I remember when I was little, we would drive by a house up on the hill on the corner of Robin and W. Parrish Ave. Every time, I would look at the porch to see 1. if the goose was there, 2. what the goose was wearing.
Porch Goose Trend
It was just a little concrete statue, but it made my day. There was a little Cupid outfit for Valentine's Day, bunny ears for Easter, a yellow raincoat, a jack-o'-lantern costume for Halloween, a turkey for Thanksgiving, and a Christmas tree for the holidays. More accessories may have existed, but those are the ones I can recall.
Taylor Swift Showgirl Goose
Just a couple of months ago, I was excited to see that same goose on our neighbor's porch! Then I dropped off something at my friend's house a couple of blocks away, and she had one too! I'm scrolling on TikTok, and what do I see? A video of someone's porch goose dressed up like a Taylor Swift showgirl!

Creative Goose Costumes
You mean to tell me there are more costumes than the Easter Bunny? Because this could be REALLY fun! A creative person could turn their porch goose into anything or anyone. I also love that folks are naming their geese. The one in the video above is Gertrude, which just...fits. It is a whole trend now.

The Porch Goose Club of America
The Porch Goose Club of America is even a thing! They have a Facebook page and a website to feature cute outfit ideas, host contests, and sell silly goose merch. If you are part of the Goose Crew and want to join the flock, check out those links. I also want to meet your goose! Send me a picture on the app chat, or you can post it on Facebook.
