Is there anything cuter than a little knobby-kneed baby animal learning how to walk? Makes me think of this scene from Bambi every time.

Just like yesterday, when I saw a video of a precious new cutie born at the Tennessee Drive Thru Safari Park in Alamo, TN. He's just happily weeble-wobbling along beside his mama. His little happy curly tail wagging back and forth as he takes in the big bright world around him.

TN Zookeepers Shocked to Find Snow White Baby Camel

Not only is he cute as a button, but he is super rare! Zookeepers were shocked to find his snow white coat and blue eyes. His parents are two paint camels, meaning they are both a yellow-brown color. It is very uncommon for their genetic makeup to result in offspring that look like this baby bull (that's what a male camel is called.)

Albino or Piebald?

It would be a mistake to classify this dromedary as an albino camel. A true albino animal would have pink or red eyes, while this baby has blue eyes. He is actually considered Piebald. This is a condition that exists in all types of animals. Chances are, if this melanin-free camel is bred, he will pass along the lack of pigmentation to his offspring, though.

A Miracle at Tennessee Safari Park

In an announcement, the zoo said, "We’re calling it a miracle, and we feel beyond blessed to witness it right here at Tennessee Safari Park. Help us welcome this stunning baby boy to the world — and yes, name suggestions are officially open!"

Snow White Camel Name Ideas

Some really great creative ideas are already rolling in.

  • "I’m calling him horseradish, a little spice, a little bite, who will grow to great heights."
  • "That is so marvelous and wonderful! Marvel sounds like a good name to me!"
  • "Sinatra “ole blue eyes"
  • "Casper- he's white & he was unexpected"

Stealing Food Bowls in No Time

Folks in the comments of their social media pages are already excited to visit this cutie pie. Soon, visitors should be able to feed him from their cars like the other animals in the drive-thru safari.

"He will be stealing food bowls out of hands and cars in no time. What a cutie!" Someone joked.

This comment was possibly my favorite, though: "First a flying zebra and now a white camel. Something special about Tennessee." If you need more explanation about the flying zebra part, click here.
