Residence Hall at WKU Will Remain Closed Until Fall Due to Mold
The dorm at WKU that was closed the latter part of the fall 2018 semester will remain closed until the fall 2019 semester begins.
Minton Hall, formerly Central Hall, will remain closed after inspections revealed more repairs were needed to correct a mold problem.
Almost 350 students were relocated in November so mold could be removed in the residence hall. The spring semester begins next Tuesday, January 22, so students were already starting to move back in.
An email sent out confirmed the hall would reopen on January 18; that was before additional work needed to be done such as installing porous tiles and windows were still needing replacement.
The email also said limited availability to accommodate roommate pairs would be received on a first come, first served basis. And all Minton residents will be billed at their original rate of $1,245 regardless of their spring housing assignment.
