Safewise Annual Report Names These Kentucky Cities as the Safest in 2024
One of the most important things when deciding where to live is whether it is safe or not. No one wants to have to worry whether their home or car is going to be broken into. Or whether violent crime will happen down from the neighborhood bus stop.
When the world seems to be going to "you know where" in a "you know what," it can seem like even the safest of places is becoming more dangerous, but is that really the case? Safewise is a company with a team of experts who share advice and information on how to stay safe at home, school, online, etc. They also conduct research on the best security systems and cities where folks are the safest.
According to Safewise, crime in Kentucky is actually among the lowest in the country with rates below the national average. "Kentucky’s violent crime rate of 2.7 incidents per 1,000 people is the eighth-lowest in the nation. Kentucky also boasts a property crime rate that’s the twelfth-lowest in the US, coming in at 16.0 incidents per 1,000 people. Both rates dropped year over year."
This year they marked their 10th annual report of the safest cities in the U.S. Here is how things shook out here in Kentucky. Safewise lists a Top 20 for each state:
