See Elvie Shane’s Caneyville Homecoming
What a 2021 Grayson County native Elvie Shane is having. In just a few months, his single "My Boy" has absolutely erupted after being released last year thanks to the heartfelt story he tells of his stepson Caleb.
About a week ago, Shane's hometown of Caneyville, which by the way, is a 14-minute drive from Horse Branch, hosted a homecoming for the singer. Shane posted the following video of what happened that day.
Since his homecoming, a couple of big things have happened. It was announced last week Shane signed a publishing deal with Rome Phrey Publishing and Warner Chappell Music Nashville. And well, the biggest news of all, after 54 weeks on the charts:
What fans may not realize is, Elvie and his wife Mandi welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Zaelyn Journey Payton, born in July. Also, did you know there's an alternate version of "My Boy" called, "My Girl"?
So what's next? Shane's debut album, Backslider, will be out next Friday (10/29). I listened to a couple of the tracks a few months ago and to my surprise, check out the first line of "Sundays in the South".
That's right y'all, Elvie Shane shouted out The Country Station! We certainly continue to wish him the best of luck.
