Severe Thunderstorms and Tornado Threat in the Tri-State on Saturday

The National Weather Service out of Paducah has issued a severe weather threat to portions of the Tri-State which may include a possible tornado.  

The primary threat with the strongest storms will be damaging winds with an enhanced flash flood threat as a result of additional locally heavy rainfall. A tornado can't be ruled out.

As the rain continues to fall, we remain under a Flood Warning for most of the listening area, but now we have more to be concerned about.

The National Weather Service out of Paducah stated that this Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Southern Illinois, Southwest Indiana and Western Kentucky.

The potential for severe thunderstorms with widespread damaging winds and a tornado threat exists late Saturday afternoon through the evening hours. The storms will most likely be in a line on or just ahead of a cold front that will move eastward across the region Saturday night.

This afternoon we talked to Wayne Hart, chief meteorologist from WEHT/Eyewitness News. He confirmed, "we can't rule out the risk for moderate to severe weather tomorrow with high winds and the possibility for a tornado."
