Angels for Ashley Cooking Team Raffling a Vintage John Deere Tractor for St. Jude
I envy me. As I write this, I'm hanging out at the Whitesville Mercantile which is owned by the Morris family. That's significant information because this is where Jerry Morris and the Angels for Ashley Cooking Team often set up shop and cook for charity.
Angels for Ashley Cooking Team
This weekend, those Boston butts ($35), racks of ribs ($25), and chickens ($15) are making this whole end of Daviess County smell like heaven. They'll be back on Saturday, cooking and raising money throughout the day. But let's add a new wrinkle.
Vintage Tractor Raffle
Not too long ago, Caleb Royal of Royal Lampkin Feed & Farm Supply drove a pretty dope John Deere tractor onto the Mercantile lot. I nearly dropped my teeth (as my dad used to say) when I learned it was a 1949 model. It's in pristine condition after Zach's Tractor Repair gave it the fine-toothed comb treatment. It's ready to do what tractors do.
Caleb is an antique tractor collector and donated it from his collection.
This vintage John Deere will be making appearances all over Daviess County between now and February 5th. That will be the first day of the 2026 St. Jude Radiothon, during which the Angels for Ashley Cooking Team will once again cook up all that delicious pork and chicken at Shoe Stop in Owensboro's Wesleyan Park Plaza. It will be at the end of that two-day event when the tractor will be given away.
Between now and then, Lampkin Feed & Farm Supply's Facebook page will be providing updates on the location of the tractor so you can take a look at it. These green signs will be posted at those locations.
The raffle tickets will be available at the Lampkin store and the Whitesville Mercantile for $20 each.
In the meantime, you have until this Saturday evening to come purchase some unbeatable Boston Butts, ribs, and chickens.
