When Kentucky "leans into" the themes for which it is known, I am here for it. But maybe I need to explain.

Unique Kentucky Destinations

If, for example, someone was opening a new restaurant in the Louisville or Lexington area, and it resembled a paddock and there were horse-racing motifs everywhere you looked, I would totally dig that. And that restaurant might actually exist.

There are probably ACTUAL examples that don't come to mind, but it's hard to do a Google search for something abstract.

The Airbnb at the heart of this story is hardly abstract and takes full advantage of something the Commonwealth is quite famous for. I mean, if you're going to have all these distilleries in Kentucky, you might as well be able to sleep in one of them, right?

Kentucky Airbnb That Was Once a Working Distillery

And you can in Stamping Ground KY. It's the Buffalo Springs Distilling Company, and it was once a working distillery. In fact, it opened way back in 1868 and closed a little over 100 years later in the 1970s. According to the Buffalo Springs Airbnb website, all the buildings were emptied out at that time, save one. The Airbnb is the only structure remaining from the original facility.

Buffalo Springs Distilling Company -- Nearby Attractions

Plan accordingly, and you'll be able to visit the Buffalo Trace Distillery, Kentucky Horse Park, the Ark Encounter, Keeneland Race Course, and take in a game at Rupp Arena. All are within 45 minutes of Buffalo Springs.

Plus, amenities like a city park, dining, and shopping, among others, are right there very close to the distillery.

But you want to take a look around, don't you? Then, by all means, go for it.
