LOOK: Stay in a Magical Hut in Tennessee’s ‘Forgotten Forest’

When I was a kid, the only thing I required when it came to accommodations was a swimming pool. Dad liked taking a dip, too, so he made sure we always stopped in time get in a swim.

These days, kids and parents alike look for something more, and in the mid 2020s, there are plenty of hotels, inns, and online property rentals that happily go the extra mile...especially in the Airbnb world. In the beginning, it was just a motel alternative, but now, more and more proprietors are offering experiences.

In Kodak TN, that vibe is of paramount importance considering how attractive to tourists the Smoky Mountains have become over the last several decades.

It feels like gigantic Hagrid from the Harry Potter series should open the door when you knock. I think it would be a tight squeeze, however. Now, I said that, but the description for this Airbnb DOES say that the Gamekeeper's Hut is "home to our most talented tamer and trainer of magical creatures." Sounds mystical to me.

The hut has two bedrooms with queen-sized beds, two full baths, a "well-appointed" kitchen. There's a fire pit, outdoor grill, and outdoor seating for reservations in the warmer months. Additionally, you'll find a hot tub that doesn't care whether the month is warm or not. You likely won't either.

And of course, since you're within spitting distance of Pigeon Forge, you will have plenty to do during your stay. Of course, if you want to just hang out at "Hogwart's," that's understandable.
