I remember seeing STOMP for the first time back in the mid 90's. The show made a stop in Louisville during its first national tour and I bought tickets to go. Just a couple of years ago (in March of 2022), I had the chance to see the show again at The Orpheum Theatre, where it had an incredible Off-Broadway run.

Well, now 'The International Sensation' is back out on the road for its 30th Anniversary Season and the touring company has rolled into downtown Owensboro, KY for two shows at the RiverPark Center. As a matter of fact, the cast and crew are running their tech rehearsals here in town. The cast members have spent the last couple of days arriving in Owensboro, getting the set built and now rehearsals are underway.

STOMP is set for 7pm, Monday, October 7th and Tuesday, October 8th.

My cohost Mary-Katherine and I were invited to come hang out with the cast on set Thursday afternoon. When I got the invitation, I immediately answered with a "YES!" and a request. I said, "I want to dance with a broom and bang on a trash can." Well, we got to!

The cast taught us really cool, rhythmic and fun numbers with the brooms and the trash cans. It was awesome!! Having seen the show from the audience, it was really fun to experience a bit of the show from the stage too.
