If you have ever even been in the same room with Julius Maddox you know he has a presence that does not go unnoticed. His build alone commands attention but he draws his strength and determination from more than just weights.

Julius Maddox is known far and wide for his great strength. He's set record after record throwing up massive amounts of weight. This weekend he set a very big personal record-->

Owensboro's Julius Maddox competed in the RPS Kilo War this past weekend in Louisville, taking the #1 spot in the current United States Rankings in Raw Bench Press.

This past weekend Julius Maddox travelled to Nashville's Southern Powerlifting Federation Nashville's Main Event Meet to crush his previous lift of 660 lbs.  He crushed his record putting up 677 lbs making him the #1 Bench Press on Powerlifting Watch's current show bench press rankings.

I had the opportunity to hang out with Julius Maddox from Friends of Sinners a Christ-Centered Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation facility here in Owensboro. Julius is well-known for his size and great strength but most importantly for his story.  He came from a childhood of drugs, alcohol, and plenty of wrong decisions. But he has turned that all around in a "powerful" way.
