It is hard to believe it's time for Owensboro's famous International Barbecue Festival. A week from Friday it opens and all the great barbecue aromas and thick, blinding smoke will waft through downtown. WBKR will be broadcasting from the event on both days. My favorite year was 2009. I was joined on the air by Kizzy and on the streets by lovely Mrs. Moon.

WBKR's little buddy, Jimmy Parrot, has gone big time!  Saturday, at the Hawesville Christmas Parade, Jimmy served as Grand Marshal, alongside his WBKR Waking Crew buddies, Moose and Tad!   I had a hunch I should bring along the trusty video camera and I did.  Check out these video highlights.  They are a riot!

November 30th, 1961 Moon Mullins began his radio career and today marks his 50th year in radio that is quite an accomplishment in itself,  a couple years ago Moon was inducted into the Country Radio Hall of Fame in 2009...Congrats Moon! WBKR's Ultimate "Dirty Santa" Party Saturday night was a blast!  Some folks, like Sharon Tucker (who snagged a Gaylord Opryland "Country Christmas" Vacation), won some pretty awesome gifts!  Others, like Barbara Grooms, got some pretty awful lumps of coal from Dirty Old Saint Nicholas!  Take a look at the video!  You won't believe what Barbara left the party with!
