This holiday season, you are invited to experience the wonder and magic of thousands of lights throughout Historic Newburgh to get you into the holiday spirit!

This year will be the first ever Newburgh Winterlights. Thousands of lights will be all around you as you walk along the Rivertown Trail from the Aurand Trailhead, across the red bridge, through the woods, and out onto the overlook. At the overlook there will be photo opportunities, fire pits, seating, more lights, and cookies/cocoa for sale. Not only that, but they will also be selling smores kits for anyone wanting to hang around a little longer.

Talk about a fun family epirence, or even an unforgettable date night! Plus, this outdoor experience offers a safe and socially distanced family outing this holiday season. I spoke with organizer, Amber Kelly about the event and she said:

We're hoping this event spreads some cheer during this time and gives everyone a much needed opportunity to get out of the house and enjoy some time with their family. The plan is for it to get bigger every year if the public likes it this year.

I believe that this event will get bigger and bigger each year. It's something new and fresh to Warrick County that folks would love to be a part of. I know that I can't wait to see it for myself!

Newburgh Winterlights will run December 18th through December 20th from 6 P.M. to 10 P.M. Parking will be available at St. John's Church and then visitors can walk to the trailhead from there.

Masks are required at the event for anyone 3 or older, and due to capacity restrictions everyone must have a ticket, not matter what their age is. Tickets are $5 per person and will go on sale beginning November 15th.
