Pretty sure everyone in the Tristate was super bummed to find out French Lick Scenic Railway would not be hosting The Polar Express.  Well, guess what we found another Polar Express Train Ride and this one is in the Great Smoky Mountains.

Seriously, watching the movie the Polar Express and seeing the children arrive at the North Pole to find Santa Claus is one of the best feelings ever.  Families will get to experience all that magic in one ride.

The adventure starts at Bryson City Depot (just over an hour from Gatlinburg) and heads out for a little over an hour-long journey.  Everyone gets to listen to the sounds of the Polar Express soundtrack, hear the wonderous story, sip hot chocolate, and even get a yummy snack.

When the train finally arrives at the "North Pole" Santa boards to surprise the children. The most amazing part is when each child gets a special gift from Santa, a silver sleigh bell. Polar Express Train Rides get underway starting November 6th and go through December 31.

The Smoky Mountain Railroad has COVID-19 precautions in place according to their website;

We will be taking every precaution to properly sanitize and clean during and inbetween this magical journey. All trains will be socially distanced, filled with reduced capacity, and all employees will be wearing proper PPE during the ride. We ask that guests be prepared to wear a mask or facial covering, socially distance, and follow all safety signage and direction while on GSMR property.  Find more information as to how we are keeping you safe Here!
