The Taylor Swift Listening Club: A New Take on Book Club
I am a proud member of the Fabulous Ladies' Reading Club. We are a book club (obviously) that has been meeting once a month for over ten years now. I love it because of the fabulous ladies who are in it, AND it helps me make time for reading.
The Taylor Swift Listening Club
I hear about other book clubs all the time, but this is the first time I have heard of a listening club. Instead of reading a book each month, a group of six local ladies from Muhlenburg and Daviess County listens to a Taylor Swift album. They do a deep dive on the lyrics, music video easter eggs, themes, etc.

My friend and TSLC hostess with the mostest, Brittany Pierstorff, shared her inspiration with me: "Shortly after Taylor released The Life of a Showgirl, I decided I wanted to be a better Swiftie," she admitted. "I wasn’t familiar with her earlier albums as I didn’t really start listening to her music until Reputation (her 6th album) came out."

A Taylor Swift Album For Each Month of the Year
Since Tay Tay currently has 12 albums, Brittany thought the best way to tackle them would be one a month for the year of 2026. Starting from the beginning, so Taylor Swift in January, Fearless for February, Speak Now for March….and so on.

"We each have a notebook. Each month, we complete a coloring sheet for the album, we share thoughts and favorite lyrics for each song, and an overall reflection sheet." Brittany explained. At the end of the month, the ladies get together at her house, where she decorates based on the album's aesthetic and serves food inspired by the lyrics.

Taylor Swift's 1989
For example, this month is all about 1989, so they all enjoyed foods with a New York vibe. They listen to the music, go over their notebooks, do a little show & tell with their coloring sheets, and chat about the songs. "It’s really interesting to see how different people in different stages of their lives interpret lyrics. Our girls range from 25 to 44. Some with kids. Some without. Some are in relationships, some are single."

Music Brings Friends Together
This is just such a great idea. Bonding over beloved music to learn more about each other and growing closer as friends? Coloring pages? Fun and delicious snacks?! Brittany, would you like a 7th member? I am half joking, but I can think of SO many great artists or iconic records to tackle.

The Listening Ladies
I am going to dub them The Listening Ladies. I've been told that they all love the club so much that they're already planning how to evolve next year after they’ve finished their "Taylor study." If you had a listening club? What would be the first album you would want to analyze with your friends? Chime in on the Facebook page or send us a message through the App Chat feature!
