It's been a long time since I've seen the movie, Field of Dreams, but if they ever made a sequel, it could probably be set in Tell City, Indiana. "If you build it, they will come," has surely been the mantra of everyone who has given their blood, sweat, and tears towards the brand new sports complex to open in Hagedorn Park.

New Tell City Sports Complex

I know this project has been decades in the making, and now the upgrades and expansion are complete. This new facility will be more inclusive with better ADA accessibility, and the drainage situation should be greatly improved. (fingers crossed for fewer rainouts!) Not to mention, it looks incredible! The colorful metal baseball sculptures and the awesome new sign really make the park pop!

A Field of Our Own

Here is a beautiful video made by Shiraz Mukarram from the Perry County Development Corporation showcasing overhead drone shots and close-up details. I have to admit, it made me a little misty.

Mayor Chris Cail shared this in an invitation on Facebook:

"I'm thrilled to announce that tomorrow, June 24, 2025, marks a truly momentous occasion for our beloved community: the official dedication of the long-awaited Tell City Sports Complex! This has been a dream for many years, and it's incredibly exciting to see it finally come to fruition.

This state-of-the-art complex is more than just a sports facility; it represents a significant milestone for Tell City. It will serve as a vibrant hub for baseball programs, leagues, and tournaments, enriching the lives of enthusiasts of all ages for generations to come. Beyond the athletic opportunities, we envision this complex becoming a central gathering place for families and friends, fostering community spirit and promoting healthy lifestyles throughout Tell City and for all our guests."

Tell City Sports Complex Grand Opening
