Owensboro’s Terror In The Corn Maze Is Back With A Chilling Twist
Remember the horror film Children of the Corn?
Well, a local haunted attraction is certainly bound to draw some inspiration from that Stephen King classic when it launches this week. The Cottage, which sits just outside the city limits of Owensboro, is ready to lure you into its newly re-imagined haunt- Terror in the Corn Maze.
Last year, The Cottage introduced Terror in the Corn Maze, but has expanded the 'field of screams' for the 2025 edition. This Fall, organizers are excited to present a 'triple-threat of terror!'Yes! The Cottage is offering three terrifying attractions and you can brave them all with one ticket price . . . IF YOU DARE!
This year's Terror in the Corn Maze features:
· The Haunted Corn Maze – a 5-acre maze of fear that will test your courage, navigational skills, and ability to face your worst nightmares.
· The Haunted Trail in the Woods – venture into the shadows where eerie figures and spine-chilling sounds await.
· The Haunted Tobacco Barn – step inside for a claustrophobic, hair-raising encounter with the unknown.
WHEN IS TERROR IN THE CORN MAZE OPEN?
The attractions are set to open Thursday, October 30th and promise to scare the holy heck out of guests nightly through Saturday, November 1st. Terror in the Corn Maze will be open 7pm to 10pm each night.
This year, The Cottage Farm Stand & Baking Co. has partnered with retired educator and Encore Musicals director Candy Miller, who has recruited actors and actresses from a variety of local schools and theatre troupes. Each night will feature a different and terrifying cast.
· Wednesday, Oct. 29 – Hancock County High School *Canceled due to weather*
· Thursday, Oct. 30 – Daviess County High School
· Friday, Oct. 31 – Friends of Encore Musicals and students area high schools
· Saturday, Nov. 1 – Owensboro High School’s Rose Curtain Players
This year, your support (and blood-curdling screams) will make a difference. Every ticket sold helps support local arts and education. Each participating group will get a portion of their evening's proceeds.
The Cottage urges you to "Prepare for a twisted journey through darkness, filled with creepy characters like zombies, evil clowns, and other fiendish figures. As the sun sets and the terror begins, every turn could lead to another horrifying encounter. Will you make it out… or will the maze claim its next victim?"
